This Galápagos shirt is pure. Devastatingly pure. The marine iguana rendered in that distressed white silhouette, sitting directly on top of Galápagos in that slightly rounded font that has absolutely been on a shirt sold at the Charles Darwin Research Station gift shop since 1979.
As you already know, the marine iguana is the only ocean-going lizard on earth. It evolved in total isolation to dive into cold Pacific water and eat algae off rocks, which is behavior so improbable it reads as a personal decision. Darwin saw these and was reportedly not charmed. The shirt is more generous than Darwin was. The heather green is so correct it almost isn’t a choice — it’s just what color this shirt has always been.
